
André Marquis is currently the Executive Director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley. He has a long record of starting successful biotechnology and information technology ventures with a particular focus on winning in markets where scalability and evidence-based decision making are critical including online advertising, media and pharmaceutical development.
Prior to joining UC Berkeley, he was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the neuromarketing firm Innerscope Research. Mr. Marquis was founder and CEO of Amplyx Pharmaceuticals, an early stage drug development company focused on developing novel anti-infectives, CMO of Log Savvy which developed the first system able to analyze the huge data streams from diverse sources required to understand “Web 2.0” emergent social activity and founder and COO of Chorus, a group inside Eli Lilly that radically increased the efficiency of Pre-Clinical-Phase II drug development. In addition, he’s been the founder and/or first management of two publicly traded Web companies (CyberGold and iPIX) and Accept.com which was acquired by amazon.com. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BA from the University of Rochester.
